Specialty

All listed surgeries are approved on a case by case basis. An exam with the doctor is required before these surgeries can be considered. Quotes for these surgeries are created on a case by cases basis after completion of an exam. Bloodwork is required for all listed surgeries.

Cryptorchid Neuter

A procedure to remove one or two retained testicles that failed to descend into the scrotum.

Pyometra Spay

Pyometra is a severe, life-threatening bacterial infection of the uterus that causes it to fill with pus. Treatment requires an emergency spay (ovariohysterectomy) to completely remove the infected uterus and ovaries, as leaving it untreated can quickly lead to sepsis and be fatal.

Ear Hematoma Repair

An ear hematoma is a pocket of blood that forms between the skin and cartilage of the ear flap. It is most commonly caused by head shaking or scratching due to underlying issues like ear infections, allergies, or ear mites. The ear will appear thick, swollen, and spongy, feeling much like a water balloon. This surgery involves making a small incision to drain accumulated blood and placing multiple "tacking" sutures to reattach the skin to the cartilage. This prevents fluid from returning.

Hernia Repair

A routine procedure that involves repairing a muscle tear so internal organs or tissues can return to their proper place.

Mass Removal

A standard veterinary surgical procedure to excise a skin growth, lump, or tumor. This is often accompanied by a biopsy to determine if the mass is a sign of infection, cancer, or other conditions.

Amputation

A major surgery used to remove a severely diseased or injured limb.

Laceration / Wound repair

Cleaning, debriding, and closing a laceration/wound under anesthesia to restore tissue, stop bleeding, and prevent infection.

Exploratory Surgery

A diagnostic and therapeutic procedure where a veterinarian opens the abdomen to directly examine organs. It is typically recommended when non-invasive tests (bloodwork, X-rays, or ultrasounds) cannot pinpoint the cause of symptoms like severe vomiting, unexplained weight loss, abdominal pain, or blockages. At this hospital, we most commonly perform this procedure when we suspect the presence of a foreign body inside the pet that is causing a full or partial blockage.
